Two Men from Dakota

In recent history there are two men from Dakota associated with the word “president”.  One is the former vice-president of the US, Dick Chaney.  The other is a man who ran for president many years ago, George McGovern.  The former will be remembered as “W’s” man behind the scenes who accidentally killed a man on a hunting expedition and a man who had a daughter who is a lesbian.  The other will be remembered as a prairie liberal who helped to pass legislation that encouraged women and minorities to run for public office and who helped to feed the hungry.  The first become a rich man serving the public; the second, never did.  Whose imprints on human society will remain decades from now?  Will those imprints give society anguish or hope?
